This picture is not a flagrant Apple endorsement, but in fact is a photo of the master tape of the single-screen version of Pose. In other words, it’s done* and ready for everyone! Stay tuned for info about screenings and DVD availability.
For the NYC crowd, check it out Sunday, April 11th at NYU’s First Run Film Festival. See the previous post for info (facebook users click here).
*The theatrical version is done, but there’s still going to be an immersive gallery-based version coming this summer.

Happy New Year from the Pose team!
Over the holiday season, a few close friends and critics got to see a fine cut of the the film, and while it is clear that we still have much work to do, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. A few substantial recent events:
- A judging copy of Pose has been submitted to the NYU First Run Film Festival. This means that we’ve officially applied to the first of (hopefully) many festivals around the world. This also means that the film is finished enough that it can be judged, even as a rough cut.
-
Pose was awarded the Haig Manoogian Memorial Film Production Award for 2010. This is an awesome boost for us and will most likely be used towards making the music sound as fantastic as possible. We’re still waiting on a couple more grants to potentially be used for Sound Design and Mixing.
As we get close to our early spring completion deadline, Stay tuned for more updates, screenshots, and music in the next month or two.

Exciting stuff is going on in the land of Pose. Doc Miller is composing original music (you can hear a snippet of his work on the Laylee trailer from a while back) and the picture cut is getting better and better. We’re waiting to hear back from two grants that could potentially be of huge help in the post process.
We’re working with a number of recent NYU grads and young professionals on sound and picture editing, and I would really love to be able to pay them fairly for what their time is worth. A few personal donations came in last month, and every little bit helps. Please keep spreading the word to people that might be in a position to donate to Pose.
Some new photos have been added to the vision section, including all the pictures from director Ivaylo Getov’s iPhone production diary last spring, and some amazing photos of shooting Nicola’s cabin scene by the super wonderful Rebecca Peloquin.
Stay tuned. Winter looks like a good season for Pose.

All the footage has been synced (finally!) and as of a few hours ago there is a complete assembly cut.
We’re trying to hone it down to a rough cut by next Thursday to make the deadline for a grant. Keep your fingers crossed!

For those Pose supporters in New York: you should check out a great independent play that Grace Folsom (Laylee) is in this weekend:
It’s called “Our Farm,” and it’s playing at The Cherry Pit - 155 Bank Street New York.

Post-production is officially underway. In order to make our winter deadline, we’re still asking for contributions and trying to get info about the project to as many people as possible.
Let’s do this Obama campaign style: all we need are thousands of really small donations, and then we’ll be president…er…we’ll have a movie. Please tell your friends to donate!
